Come and be inspired by Her Refuge Was Her Song, a concert presented by the Danu Young Women’s Choir. This powerful program explores the strength, resilience, and beauty of women’s voices through works by today’s leading choral composers. From the elemental soundscapes of Katerina Gimon’s Earth and Fire, to the fierce energy of Joselyn Hagen’s Controlled Burn, to the reflective beauty of Elaine Hagenberg’s Refuge, each piece tells a story of endurance, hope, and belonging. Audiences will be moved by beloved works such as Ysaye Barnwell’s Wanting Memories and Susan Brumfield’s No Time, alongside luminous new pieces by Jennifer Lucy Cook, Andrea Ramsey, Jenny Mahler, Sarah Quartel, and Katie Burt. With narration weaving the journey together, this concert is both a celebration of music as sanctuary and an invitation to find refuge in song.
